Job DescriptionJob Description

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a detail-oriented engineer with 8-13 years of experience in design and project management of municipal water and wastewater projects. The position will include leading and delivering planning and design of municipal water/wastewater facilities projects. Experience should encompass all phases of design, including conceptual/feasibility evaluations, project management, preparation of design reports, permitting, detailed design, development of construction drawings and specifications, and support of construction services.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Project management, preparation of assessment and design reports, performing design calculations, cost estimating, permitting, equipment sizing/selection, and preparation of construction documents for municipal water/wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Infrastructure design.
  • Field work and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely through technical writing.

Qualifications Required:

  • 8-13 years of experience in delivering water and wastewater projects for municipal clients.
  • Must hold an active Kentucky Professional Engineer license.
  • B.S. degree in environmental or civil engineering.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in all computer software typically used (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Candidate must have strong organizational skills.
