About Us: WLE Print Solutions is a Print Shop located in Eugene, OR We provide wide format printing, packaging and labeling specializing in the cannabis industry. We also produce for our very own sister company, White Label Extracts, a locally owned and operated cannabis company.

Job Description: Do you want to embark in a fun, fulfilling career in the print industry? Do you already have printing experience but looking for a change? WLE Print Solutions is looking for a Pre-Press/Print Operator who will be responsible for preparing print files and equipment for printing, running print equipment, and performing routine maintenance on printing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pre-press processes, print production, and a commitment to value, quality and consistency. The Pre-Press/Print operator must maintain high standards and be able to meet deadlines efficiently.

Schedule: Mon-Thurs 7:15am-5:45pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review digital files for printing, ensuring they meet specifications for size, format, and color accuracy.
  • Run printing processes, including pre-press file preparation, loading/unloading machines, and programming cut files.
  • Perform layout and pre-press work prior to printing.
  • Perform quality checks on all printed materials to ensure they meet company and client standards.
  • Operate and maintain printing equipment, including performing minor repairs and routine maintenance.
  • Operate finishing and application machinery to complete printed products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to printing processes, equipment, and software.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, software, and techniques to continually improve processes.
  • Ensure that all equipment is regularly maintained and in good working condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Assist with proof-reading and checking layouts before production.
  • Track inventory levels on supplies needed for the print shop, printing, machinery, etc.
  • Strong communication with other departments for packaging/printing needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Graphic Design, Print Technology, or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong technical/computer skills.
  • Must have experience with HP Wide Format, Epson and Afinia Label Printers, HP Plotters, or similar machinery.
  • 3+ years of experience in a pre-press or print operator role.
  • Experience with color management and calibration.
  • Knowledge of file setup and print template making.
  • Proficiency with pre-press software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and RIP software (Fiery, Flexi, BarTender).
  • Proficiency with inventory softwares and programs such as Google Docs, Sheets, etc.
  • Knowledge of Ricoh Digital Presses.
  • Familiarity with various printing techniques.
  • Very strong attention to detail and the ability to identify print issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask, pivot, and switch gears as needed in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and workflow demands.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic mechanical skills for equipment maintenance.
  • Vinyl Application.
  • Basic knowledge of Graphic Design.
  • Must be able/willing to obtain an OLCC Marijuana Worker Permit.
