Position Type: New Opening
Position Duration: 3-4 months
Location: Onalaska, WI
Department: Technology
Compensation: $19.19 – $23.00 per hour
Purpose & Summary: This internship provides a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects within Dynamic's R&D department, focusing on AI-driven innovation and efficiency improvements. In this role you will work closely with the Senior Development Engineer to evaluate current technological processes within the ITAD and electronics recycling processes and develop AI-driven use cases aimed at enhancing productivity and operational efficiency.
Day to day responsibility may include:
- Research and AI Application: Learn about and understand the company's existing technology stack and processes. Research AI technologies and methodologies that can optimize current systems and workflows. Propose AI-driven projects and use cases that align with business objectives.
- Development and Testing: Assist in developing prototypes and simulations of proposed AI solutions under the guidance of senior staff. Perform tests and refine AI models to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Document processes and outcomes meticulously to aid in further development and scaling.
- Project Assistance and Collaboration: Actively participate in R&D meetings to gain insights and share findings. Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects that require tech innovation and AI insights. Support the R&D team in daily tasks and contribute to the development of project deliverables.
Education & Experience:
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field with a strong AI component.
- Experience: Over six months and up to one year of experience with Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning projects, either academically or through personal exploration. Previous internship experience is preferred.
Successful Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is passionate about AI and technology development, with a strong desire to learn and contribute to innovative projects. They possess excellent analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset. The successful candidate is adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and can provide innovative AI solutions to improve business processes.
Skills & Abilities:
- Basic understanding of database, network, and programming principles with a preference for knowledge in Python.
- Familiarity with AI concepts, machine learning algorithms, and their application in solving real-world problems.
- Understanding of data structures, basic data security practices, and hardware fundamentals.
- Insight into statistical and mathematical concepts applicable to AI and technology projects.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate existing processes and identify AI implementation opportunities.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with senior engineers and other interns.
- Adaptability to rapidly changing technologies and methodologies in a dynamic R&D environment.
- To work collaboratively with team members from multiple departments to understand and enhance technological processes.
- To critically analyze and provide innovative AI solutions to improve business processes.
- To manage multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize work as needed under supervision.
