Status: Part time

Job Description:

The successful candidate will be expected to learn from and assist current Personal Care Aides with the following job duties:

  • Assist program participants with personal care, meal preparation, daily living skills and socialization.
  • Ensure program participants’ care plans are being implemented on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide monitoring and oversight to all participants.
  • Ensure a meaningful, enriching environment and experience to participants in a Social Adult Day Program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to monitor and oversee program participants.
  • Meal preparation and ability to follow meal guidelines for participants.
  • Lead recreational activities inside the program and when participants go out into the community.
  • Assist with toileting, medicine distribution and personal care skills.
  • Learn how to assist participants with transportation and on and off transport vehicle.

Education:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • PCA certification either as pre-apprenticeship training or during the course of the apprenticeship.

Travel Required: No
