Basic Job Functions:

  • Monitor punch press machine performance making adjustments as necessary to ensure efficient and accurate production
  • Load materials, select appropriate tools, and configure machine settings for each job
  • Perform punching operations based on blueprints
  • Perform quality inspections of finished items using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and measuring tape
  • Fill out and complete all necessary forms and documents.
  • Operate various powered industrial trucks (forklifts, electric pallet jacks).
  • Monitor machine operations to detect any malfunctions or defects
  • Sanding, grinding and/or deburring using power and hand tools
  • Counting and sorting finished products
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Support other departments when work is slow in Fabrication
  • Report unsafe working conditions
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervision
  • Partner with maintenance on troubleshooting issues.
  • Perform routine PMs on all required equipment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures and housekeeping standards to make safety a priority.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform basic math skills
  • Read and understand manufacturing drawings, work instructions, and Standard operating procedures.
  • Use hand and /or power tools
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Precision measuring device experience
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts
  • Ability to comprehend and follow verbal instructions
  • Basic Reading and writing skills
  • Ability to work with a team.
  • Basic knowledge of Punch and Break press operation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or GED, preferred
  • Experience as a Punch Press Operator or similar role
  • Previous experience working for a manufacturing company, preferred
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean manufacturing
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
