Job Description

The Shop Tech 1 will work with oversight of the shop supervisor performing material handling, maintaining a safe work environment while supporting the technical team with skilled assessments and repairs. Shop Tech 1 will possess an entry level electrical and mechanical knowledge. Shop Tech 1 is expected to demonstrate the company’s core values at all times.

  • Closely follows directions to assist with machinery, gather materials and tools and load and unload machinery.
  • Operate forklift as directed.
  • Organizes and maintains workspace to ensure a clean and safe environment for all team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory responsibilities

There are no supervisory responsibilities with this role.

Work environment

Industrial shop environment with regular exposure to industrial machinery, possible noise, and respiratory pollutants. Wear PPE as required: uniforms, safety eye wear, masks, gloves, respirators, work boots, hard/bump hats, fall protection and ear protection.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must be able to physically bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections. Demonstrate visual acuity to inspect products and manual dexterity to perform repairs. Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds in the form of boxes of supplies or product components.

Ability to operate a motor vehicle is required. This role may be responsible for deliveries of equipment in the local area using a company vehicle.

Travel

Travel is not anticipated; however, support of the service team can occur and is anticipated less than 10% of the time.

Required education and experience

Requires knowledge ordinarily acquired from a high school diploma and a minimum of 1 years related field experience in an industrial environment.
