Role Overview:
This position will be the anchor of the new structural group and the candidate must have the leadership and technical skills to assist in developing and leading that group. This role will have overall responsibility for design and management of specific projects, including K-12 and higher education, hospitality, commercial, healthcare, civic, government, and historic preservation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to manage projects from design through construction.
- Developing geometric layout of structures and performing load calculations.
- Designing and detailing of building structures
- Familiarity with Risa and/or Etabs is preferred.
- Reviewing analysis and checking design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by other engineers.
- Performing seismic analysis and design of building structures.
- Ability to provide leadership, mentoring and guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Ability to interact with owners, contractors, architects, and engineers of different disciplines.
- Ability to develop business as part of the RTM team
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with a wide range of building structure types including hospitality, educational, industrial, commercial, and residential, preferably in a consulting engineering firm environment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working as a structural engineer. Professional licensure is required.
- Detail oriented with strong skills in structural analysis, design and detailing of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber systems for all types of buildings.
- Ability to work in a team environment and have a diversified knowledge of technology, materials, equipment, design concepts, and construction techniques.
- Ability to provide leadership to other team members and work with engineers in remote locations.
