This Building Maintenance Technician position earns a competitive wage of $21.59/hour. We also offer generous benefits, including health, dental, vision, a flexible spending account (FSA), a healthcare spending account (HSA) with up to a $2,500 match, a 401k plan with 5% match, short and long-term disability, accident insurance, life insurance, 11 paid holidays, paid time off between Christmas and New Year's, paid time off (PTO), and an hour of paid time on Fridays for self-care.


Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of our buildings. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring that the facilities meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and other building infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential maintenance issues before they become major problems.
  • Ensure that all work complies with health and safety policies; and local, state, federal, and program regulations.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address issues in a timely manner to minimize disruption to the facility's operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
  • Collaborate with facility managers and to coordinate maintenance activities and prioritize tasks.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of equipment for special events and activities within the facilities.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies, and notify the facility manager when replacements are needed.
  • Ensure the facility's exterior, including playgrounds and parking areas, are well-maintained and safe for use.
  • Role Modeling, Demonstrate professional behavior, responsibility, and a positive attitude at all times. Serve as a role model for children and staff by maintaining a respectful and courteous demeanor.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A BUILDING MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

  • High School diploma/GED required
  • 3 years of building maintenance experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable

Preferred Qualifications

  • A CDL license is preferred but not required
  • Certification from a technical school in a construction related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in a child care or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and general building maintenance
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and supervisors

Working Conditions

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors including adverse weather conditions on occasion.

May require on call availability for emergency repairs outside of regular working hours.

Safety gear and equipment must be used as required.

Frequent walking, standing, climbing, lifting, stooping, or carrying of equipment and materials may be required.

This position is required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

May be exposed to extreme temperatures, close-quarter situations, high and precarious places, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations.


WORK SCHEDULE

Typical work schedule 7:30am-4:30pm Monday through Friday.
