Why Join OLI Systems?
At OLI Systems, we believe in the power of chemistry to solve some of the world’s most complex challenges. Our team is driven by a shared passion for science, innovation, and client success. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diverse perspectives are valued, and all team members have the opportunity to grow and thrive.
  • Inclusive Environment: We are dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, respected, and empowered to contribute their best work.
  • Cutting-Edge Technology: Work with the most respected software for electrolyte predictions, helping shape the future of sustainable processes, critical metal extraction, and carbon capture.
  • Collaborative Culture: Join a team of diverse scientists, engineers, and innovators who are committed to excellence and continuous learning.

The Role:
As an Application Engineer at OLI Systems, you will play a pivotal role in applying our advanced electrolyte modeling technology to solve real-world challenges in various industries. This position is ideal for a U.S.-based candidate with a strong background in chemical engineering and a passion for science, chemistry and process simulation. We encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply, including those who may not meet every requirement but are eager to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership: Lead the application of OLI’s advanced electrolyte modeling software to address complex chemical challenges in industries such as Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining, Wastewater Treatment, and Power Generation. Develop and present technical solutions that demonstrate the unique value of OLI’s technology.

  • Training & Knowledge Transfer: Conduct workshops and seminars, both on-site and remotely, to educate clients on the capabilities of OLI’s software. Help clients extract more value from our technology by deepening their understanding of electrolyte modeling and its applications.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field is required. We value diverse educational backgrounds and experiences, so if you have equivalent experience or alternative qualifications, we encourage you to apply. A master’s degree (MS) in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: We are looking for candidates with a solid foundation in chemistry, a strong understanding of chemical principles and a passion for process simulation. While direct experience in electrolyte chemistry, thermophysical modeling, or process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, gPROMS, Aveva PRO/II), is a plus, we prioritize a passion for learning and an eagerness to apply new technologies. We welcome applicants with diverse experiences, including those who may be transitioning from other industries or roles.
  • Industry Expertise: 5-10 years’ experience in one or more of the following sectors: Oil & Gas, Metals & Mining, Wastewater Treatment, or Power Generation. Familiarity with the specific challenges of these industries and how electrolyte modeling can provide solutions is highly desired.

    • A motivated leader with a team-oriented mindset and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver compelling presentations.
    • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) is helpful but can be learned on the job.
Benefits & Perks:
  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible schedules, remote work opportunities, and paid holidays.
  • Health & Wellness: Comprehensive health insurance plans, life insurance, and access to an onsite gym and cafeteria (at our NJ Office)
  • Retirement Planning: 401(k) with a 6% employer match and immediate vesting.
