Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThe Admissions Representative must be results-oriented and energetic, willing to work in a fast- paced environment. The individual must have effective decision-making and communication skills and strong computer and telephone skills.  The individual in this position will become part of a team of innovative and dynamic staff focused on enrolling appropriate students into academic programs offered by the University. The willingness to be a team player, be hands-on, and work to achieve University benchmarks is essential to the position. The University Admissions Representative must also work to promote teamwork within admissions and with other university departments.  Specific work times may change from week to week based on the needs of the University.  The University Admission Representative reports directly to the Assistant Director of Admission. 

Responsibilities:
 
  • Manage the admissions process from the point of inquiry through enrollment and the drop/add period.
  • Maintaining appropriate and effective communication with prospective students, such as text messages, emails, social media, and telephone
  • Communication with families and prospective students; tours of the institution; interviews; securing required documents and credentials, and completing the enrollment package
  • Provide opportunities for prospective students to visit the campus for open houses, tours, and other activities to build interest in potential University students.
  • Represent the University at various gatherings and conferences as assigned
  • Participate in all admission activities. I.e. Open House, Job Fairs, Educational Fairs, and any other activities as directed.
  • Assist with administrative functions as requested.
  • Perform other duties and services as may be assigned or requested.
  • Conduct telephone calls to answer initial questions from potential student applicants and to set up campus interviews with them.
  • Conduct in-person, telephone, or virtual interviews with potential students to explain academic programs.
  • Comply with governmental regulations and standards of accreditation as they relate to enrolling students and recruitment activities.
  • Identify potential problems which may interfere with, or be a barrier to, a student’s successful entrance and completion of an academic program.

Qualifications:
 
  • 1-2 years' experience in college or university admissions, preferred
  • 2+ years customer service experience
  • A record of progressively responsible experience
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staff
  • Availability to work some Saturdays as required
  • High standards of ethics and integrity
Work Schedule:
M-Th 10:00 am to 7:00 pm; F 9:00 am to 6:00 pm; Saturday as required
