Job Summary


As temp product developer you will work to bring a design to life by managing product all the way from initial concept through final production. You will be the front-line with all venders and factories regarding communication on sampling, material and component approvals, and fitting product while maintaining accurate data library for the lifecycle of a product. You will use your keen eye for quality, color, construction, and fit to transform a data pack to a product that aligns company and brand standards. You will closely monitor seasonal calendars ensuring all key dates are hit while working with internal cross functional teams to ensure all updates on product are clearly communicated.

 

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities


  • Research and develop brand right and innovative seasonal product constructions and techniques for each season and brand within responsibility.
  • Collaboratively develop and champion seasonal calendar with cross functional team while ensuring all target dates are maintained.
  • Create product documentation using Centric PLM system and other tools to communicate product expectations to manufacturing partners. Continue to manage product development process via PLM throughout the product lifecycle. 
  • Work directly with factories and goldbug assets overseas to develop products and packaging that meet Data Pack and target costing expectations.
  • Review samples and document product changes/approvals/drops via PLM and communicate to cross functional teams.
  • Partners with sourcing and suppliers to gain access to new materials, construction techniques, and processes to create innovative products in owned categories.
  • Foster and maintain key partnerships with external accounts & design teams.
  • Manages cost engineering of product to ensure we are offering high quality and brand right product while maintaining target costing.
  • Work with tech to manage product fittings and maintaining clear analysis, documentation, communication, and adherence to fit intent and standards.
  • Measure and fit all product samples utilizing construction specs and size charts provided by tech team.
  • Effectively communicate with suppliers, vendors, and internal cross functional teams on product design & development issues.
  • Mentor and coach assistant and associate product developers and maintains visibility across all brands.
  • Work with sourcing, development team and PI team to effectively and efficiently onboard new suppliers and facilitate factory shifts.
  • Technical support with initial size chart set up, maintenance, and product measuring/fitting samples at each stage.

  • Collaborative mindset with ability to work effectively cross-functionally.
  • Flexibility and availability to take early morning or evening calls with overseas teams.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with overseas teams with language barrier.
  • Actively engage in and use the tools available to you including PLM.
  • Manage development calendar.
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Illustrator & PLM.
  • Bachelor's degree in product development, fashion merchandising, marketing, business management or other apparel/fashion related discipline.
  • Knowledge in patternmaking including grading, construction, and fit.
  • 7+ years product development experience.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally if needed.
  • Must be okay to work in a dog friendly office.
