Our client in Reston, VA has an immediate need for a Network Engineer Level 3 Please note that this is a 6-month contract to hire opportunity with our client and NOT with Core BTS.


Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Docker and Containerization Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead an internal Research and Development project focused on optimizing containerization performance, particularly in the context of video processing technology. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Docker and other containerization technologies, with a proven track record of making critical strategic decisions for software architecture and container optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and drive an internal R&D project focused on optimizing containerization performance, specifically for video processing technology.
  • Design, architect, and implement Docker-based solutions to enhance performance, scalability, and efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend container orchestration platforms, tools, and technologies based on project requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and deployment of containerized applications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on best practices for Docker and containerization.
  • Conduct performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting of Docker environments to achieve optimal operational efficiency.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in containerization and video processing technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Docker and containerization SME, with a focus on optimizing performance for video processing applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and other container orchestration tools.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing Docker-based solutions for complex software applications.
  • Deep understanding of video processing technologies and their integration with containerized environments.
  • Ability to make critical strategic decisions for software architecture and container optimization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies is a plus.
