Revere Electric Supply Company, a well-established electrical automation distributor and market leader, is seeking an Outside Automation Specialist for Drives & Power / Motor Control Centers.

The Outside Automation Specialist – Drives & Power / Motor Control Centers role reports to the local Automation Manager and is primarily an outside position. The role involves mainly local travel within the Northern IL market maintaining responsibilities supporting customers and sales activities for an assigned group of products. Sales activities include providing engineering support for the specification and selection of automation products assisting System Integrators, OEMs, End Users, and Contractors (various customer types). To succeed in this role, candidates must develop and drive business plans, commercial plans, work well in team environments, have demonstrated technical skills, interpersonal skills and the desire for personal and professional development.

Primary responsibility is to support Variable Frequency Drive applications, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), and associated components, such as Motors, Gearboxes and mechanical (mechatronic) accessories.

Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Sales duties:
    1. Support account managers to identify the appropriate products accurately and swiftly for use in applications
    2. Present product capabilities to customers in group and individual situations
    3. Participate in sales teaming efforts (including Rockwell Automation) required to close opportunities
    4. Promote the value-add of assigned products in competitive situations
    5. Effectively listen, communicate and gain consensus
    6. Develop Business and Commercial plans to grow sales


  • Technical duties:
    1. Demonstrate core competency for the current technology as it relates to Drives and complementary products
    2. Demonstrate core competency for Motor Control Center configurations and managing the sales cycle of the project
    3. Identify and demonstrate technology solutions for customer applications
    4. Increase technical acumen in all assigned tech segments of the team (will include products outside of Drives and MCCs)
    5. Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in Drives, Motion Control and complimentary product areas

Qualifications:

  • Four-year technical degree, technical associate degree or applicable experience
  • Must possess minimum of 6 years of experience in the Industrial Automation market
  • A team-oriented individual who strives for customer satisfaction
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of individuals
  • Proficient with Windows based software systems/tools and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated
