This position is perfect for a therapist with young children who is available to work weekday mornings or weekends, serving clients in the Aspire Speech & Learning Center Clinic.  The ideal candidate would have two years of experience working with various pediatric communication disorders and be available between 8 am and 12 pm.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  1. Completes initial patient evaluations.
  2. Obtains thorough patient history through subjective interviews and reviews of available objective information.
  3. Designs a specific care plan following the determination of patient needs and revises as appropriate through ongoing assessment during the patient's treatment.
  4. Formulates short-term/long-term goals based on results of the evaluation, complete with time frames in accordance with ASPIRE timelines.
  5. Provide speech and language therapy services based on a formal treatment plan.  Maintains records documenting progress toward goals.
  6. Communicates verbally and in writing with other employees, physicians, patients/families, and other agencies.
  7. Participates in care conferences and in-services.
  8. Presents information in an organized and fluent manner.
  9. Seeks professional development to benefit the organization and personal/professional growth.
  10. Stays current on new trends and developments in speech therapy through a literature survey.
  11. Present information learned during continuing education and self-study to others in the department.
  12. Maintains confidentiality; upholds patient rights and freedoms.
  13. Attends and contributes as appropriate to mandatory education and departmental staff meetings and maintains continuing education units.
  14. Knows and follows policies relating to infection control.
  15. Conforms to all other policies and procedures of the facility.
  16. Other related duties as assigned.


EDUCATION: Graduate of Master’s level accredited Speech Therapy Program.


CERTIFICATION: Licensed Speech Therapist by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs. Clinical Certificate of Competence from ASHA.


EXPERIENCE: 2 years of Speech Pathology experience in a pediatric setting.
