What You Will Be Doing:
- Collaborate with the Controller to develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the accounts payable, accounts receivable/revenue, and joint interest billing activities.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals, to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Coordinate with internal departments to gather financial data and information for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning purposes.
Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field with 3+ years of experience; CPA preferred.
- Prior experience within the oil and gas industry strongly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills with strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and accounting systems.
- Technically adept in all areas of accounting and financial management. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, including a solid foundation of the financial statement close process and GAAP rules and regulations.
- Experience in the preparation and presentation of financial statements.
- Knowledge of and experience with policies, procedures, and sound systems of internal control.
- Extremely team-oriented with strong oral and written skills to convey information clearly and persuasively.
- Results-oriented with a sense of urgency.
- Must be able to perform light work – exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.
- Able to operate standard office/computer equipment.
