Asbestos Technician

Core Responsibilities:
- Project Execution:
- Learn and perform advanced abatement tasks, including the removal and reapplication of insulating materials.
- Learn and ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, and relevant state regulations.
- Manage and regulate Negative Pressure Enclosures and authorized access.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
- Follow all safety precautions and procedures to control regulated areas and prevent cross-contamination.
- Complete and maintain regulatory records and documentation for NEA's (Negative Exposure Assessments).
- Equipment:
- Must be able to pass respirator fit test.
- Wear respiratory protection as demanded by each project for up to 12 hr. shifts.
- Maintain respiratory equipment, monitoring devices, HEPA vacuums, and other related equipment.
- Ensure vehicles and supplies are fully stocked, safe, in working condition, and prepared for daily working conditions.
- Building containment, setting up and maintaining equipment
- Using various tools for abatement purposes: scrapers, hammers, power tools, knives, shovels, etc.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Conduct and document air monitoring from pre-abatement to final clearances.
- Complete required paperwork and update project information in the database.
- Interface with customers and relay information to management as appropriate.
- Waste Management and Material Application:
- Follow hazardous waste disposal procedures and documentation.
- Apply new environmentally safe materials post-abatement.
- Physical Requirements and Additional Responsibilities:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in extreme conditions.
- Participate in an on-call schedule for after-hours service calls.
- Maintain a clean driving record and pass background checks.
Qualifications:
- Entry Level position for Environmental Abatement
- Ability to travel out of town as the job requires.
- Asbestos or Lead Abatement experience preferred.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Washington State driver's license.
