Radiology Technologist

Position Summary
The Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing radiological diagnostic exams and procedures as outlined by the Radiologist and other providers (MD/DO/NP/PA). The Radiology Technologist operates radiographic equipment, develops film, applies principals of radiation safety for patients, general public and self, evaluates radiographs for technical quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for obtaining Radiographic images of diagnostic quality while adhering to departmental standards and protocols Collaborates with other professionals in and out of the hospital to ensure effective, efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired outcomes
Using proper radiation protection and precautions, prepares and operates radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable equipment.
Positions patients to obtain appropriate radiographic exposures.
Operates film processing equipment.
Participates in quality control and quality assurance studies.
Assists the supervising radiologist with administrative functions. Participates in the enforcement of Radiation safety practices
Responds to patient and/or staff service and patient experience issues. Effectively completes and ensures that all electronic data is sent to its appropriate destination. Provides copies of imaging studies in a timely manner. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Collaborates with department leadership to develop and implement methods to achieve established goals and objectives.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Must have AA Degree in X-Ray Technology from AMA Approved School
Must be certified with South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association.
Computer skills required, including Microsoft Office
Current CPR certification.
Possesses a valid South Carolina driver’s license and clean driving record
