Morning Line Cook

POSITION SUMMARY: The Morning Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast and sandwich dishes for guests. This includes everything from simple dishes like scrambled eggs and toast to more complicated meals like omelets, waffles, pancakes, and rubens. The Morning Line Cook must maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that all food is properly stored and handled in compliance with health and safety regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and restaurant requirements
• Ensuring that all dishes are cooked to perfection and presented beautifully
• Following food safety and hygiene regulations while preparing and handling food items
• Maintaining a clean and organized working space, including kitchen equipment and tools
• Ensuring inventory levels are maintained and communicating with management team on supplies that need to be replenished
• Managing the kitchen during peak hours and ensuring a smooth and efficient preparation process
• Coordinating with the front-of-house team to ensure that breakfast orders are fulfilled accurately and on time
• Providing training and guidance to junior kitchen staff members.

• Customer Service: As a Morning Line Cook, you may be interacting with guests who have special requests or dietary restrictions. It is important to have good customer service skills to understand the guest’s needs and be able to provide them with a satisfactory dining experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• A culinary degree or certificate from a recognized institution
• ServSafe Certification preferred
• At least 2-5 years of experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and team-working skills
• Strong organizational ability
• A willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS:

• Chef pants
• Chef jacket, hat
• Non-skid shoes/sneakers

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including Weekends and Holidays
• 7am-3pm with the occasional extended shift

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Required to stand for long hours, often in a hot and humid kitchen environment.
• Continuously lift heavy pots and pans, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.

• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift to 50 pounds.
