The University of St. Thomas, a private university (www.stthom.edu) committed to the liberal arts and to the
religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, is seeking a Student Success Support Coach
for the Title V CHART grant. This position reports to the Project Manager and ELL Director. The Student
Success Coach will manage a student case load and deliver hands-on, intrusive, proactive student support
influenced by the coaching theory of Bettinger and Baker and the cultural wealth and cultural awareness theories
of Nora, Rendon, et. al. This position will coach students, arrange for peer mentor training, and ensure students
are accessing and completing wrap-around service referrals. Coaches will monitor the data collected on students
coached and support the Project Director and Program Manager with the collection of student academic,
performance and retention data, research, and peer-to-peer mentoring data. The Student Success Coach will
provide program and student data collection and evaluation support to the Title V Project Director, Program
Manager and program evaluator as requested.

Responsibilities:
• Complete and maintain records for grant reporting and internal campus reporting.
• Provide referrals to wrap around support services for Freshmen, and Transfer students to include Hispanic
and low-income students.
• Coach students and track and report usage of other wrap-around services as appropriate.
• Utilize the Watermark Student Success and Engagement system to monitor student academic progress,
provide early intervention for at-risk students and coordinate wrap around support services.
• Provide Watermark support to faculty and staff as requested.
• Work with Project Director, Program Manager and UST administration to institutionalize improvements.
• Work with the Project Director, Program Managers, other Success Coaches and Peer Mentors to ensure all
Title V project goals and objectives are completed on time and within budget.
• Create academic skill building curriculum and provide workshops and virtual resources to support
freshmen and incoming transfer students.
• Other duties as required.

Required:
• Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications:
• MA/MS in Education discipline or related discipline
• Three years of experience supporting low-income, first generation and underrepresented students.
• Student engagement and retention software experience for student coaching and support
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent rapport with university-wide communities and external resources.
• Familiarity with student transition to higher education setting
• Bilingual skills will be preferred.

This is a federally funded, five-year, full-time, year-round, benefit eligible professional position.
