Java Software Engineer / Database Developer
Location: New York, NY

Have the opportunity to join a software product firm located in New York City, working as a Java Developer / SQL Programmer on the Analytics products team. You will be responsible for the design and development of Analytics Infrastructure, that is a platform that is key to building the firm's Analytics products using Java, Oracle, SQL server, NoSQL (Cassandra), Spark, Kubernetes, Docker and AWS. You will have the opportunity to use creative ideas to take on complex analytical problems. In this role you will contribute to the design and build solutions for Web & Cloud applications, REST APIs & Web Services, Data Processing and Stream Processing. You will build Data Analytics applications used to make critical decisions globally. You will grow and improve upon skills working on Enterprise Software products leveraging Big Data, Cloud and Open Source technologies.

Responsibilities:
• Work closely with product managers, product owners, and technology teams to understand requirements, design and develop highly scalable applications in the Cloud.
• Perform the analysis of technical issues and resolve them.
• You will create design documents and perform technical walkthroughs.
• You will always be on the lookout for ways to improve the architecture and code quality.

Required Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or any STEM equivalent.
• Requires strong grasp of Computer Science fundamentals, such as Algorithms, Data Structures, and Object Oriented Programming concepts.
• Must have a minimum of 1-7 years of Core Java, Multi-threaded programming and Database programming experience.
• Requires strong SQL stored procedure development and SQL Advanced Queries experience working within either Oracle or SQL server environments.
• Need to have a solid knowledge of Concurrency, Multithreading, or Garbage Collection.
• Any Microservices experience advantageous, with Spring Boot strongly preferred.

Following Skills would be a Plus:
• Proficient with Agile, Kanban, Scrum, Test-Driven Development (TDD) development methodologies.
• Big Data, Cloud, Containerization or Open Source technologies experience. AWS, Spark, NoSQL preferably Cassandra, AKKA, Docker, Kubernetes
