Job Summary
We seek a motivated and experienced Mechanic proficient in repairing Diesel Engines, air and hydraulic brake systems, suspension, electrical systems, air conditioning, front-end steering systems, DOTs, and BIT inspection, and other general repairs. Applicants are required to have their own tools.
Essential Functions

Responsible for supporting the operation, including, but not limited to, the following activities:
- Removes, repairs, replaces, and adjusts components of major truck and/or automotive systems, including, but not limited to, engine, electrical, suspension, fueling, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Performs remedial diagnostics and troubles-shooting on heavy-duty diesel and or automotive systems
- Performs regular preventive maintenance inspections of truck and/or trailer systems, repairs minor problems, and completes written form documentation of defects repaired and or needing repair
- Performs brake inspection to include lubricating bearings, checking and replacing worn components, installation of brake shoes, and final adjustments of all wheel-end components
- Repairs minor damage to the interior and/or exterior of trucks/trailers and/or other equipment, including, but not limited to, torn seats, broken windows, door panels, and windshields, minor dents, and cosmetic paint damage
- Maintains, supports, and promotes a safe work environment while complying with all of Quik Pick Express, LLC safety rules, policies, and procedures
- Perform routine maintenance on trucks, such as checking batteries and changing the oil to ensure proper vehicle running
- Inspect various parts of trucks, including brake systems, wheel bearings, and steering mechanisms, to ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively
- Use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, screwdrivers, hoists, and jacks, to repair trucks while constantly utilizing safety precautions
- Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devices such as motor analyzers, handheld computers, and chassis charts to determine how to address problems
- Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running correctly and to find issues to determine what the solution will be
- Replace parts, valves, bearings, and gears as needed and repair vehicle cooling and heating systems
- Measure vehicle emissions to ensure they are within the proper limits
- Ensure parts conform to factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions
- Other related duties as assigned
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a warehouse/ Yard environment. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The noise level is usually moderate to high.
Required:
- Must be able to lift heavy equipment and parts regularly up to 40 pounds
- Must be comfortable with working in awkward positions or cramped spaces
- Must have own tools
- 2 years of experience working with diesel engines, air, and hydraulic brake systems
- Experience working with diagnostic computers
