Bridgeway is a new kind of healthcare organization providing holistic treatment through addiction recovery, problem gambling treatment, mental health therapy, and primary medical care.


Primary Purpose

This position works closely with the culinary team and will assist the Executive Chef in all phases of food and bakery production to include the basics of nutrition and customer service. The person in this position is integral to the smooth operation of the kitchen and is responsible for preparing ingredients and maintaining the kitchen's overall organization.


Essential Duties

  • Cleans and prepares kitchen, responsible for facilitating a clean, safe and well stocked service line and dining area.
  • Specializes in, but is not limited to, cooking and producing breakfast and lunch items.
  • Maintains health code standards.
  • Complies with large-scale food production.
  • Requests cooking products or supplies to be ordered as per menu needs.
  • Ensures the kitchen is well stocked; performs inventory control.
  • Checks supplies or food products delivered by the supplier to be sure they meet the type, quantity, and quality specified by Bridgeway Culinary specifications.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to clients.
  • Maintains an organized and clean work environment.

Qualifications

  • Requires at least one to two (1-2) years of culinary experience, preferrable in a high-volume operation, with evidence of increasing responsibility, and verifiable culinary references.
  • Experience preparing menus while adhering to nutritional guidelines preferred.
  • Must possess current Oregon Food Handler card and/or will obtain Oregon Food Handler card prior to starting work.
  • Must have a valid Oregon Driver's License and good driving record, as well as reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Must be available to work weekends and some holidays as requested by Supervisor.

  • Ability to read and understand food recipes.
  • Organized and attentive to details.
  • Proven ability to be a team player.
  • Commitment to professionalism, including effective verbal and non-verbal communication.
  • Understands operation and versatile utilization of kitchen equipment.
  • Understands and maintains quality standards with both small and large customer volumes.
  • Exercises flexibility and judgment with dynamic customer needs and presence.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule to include weekends, evenings, and/or holidays.
