VulcanForms Inc. seeks a CNC Machinist for our Newburyport, MA location.
Job Purpose
As the CNC Machinist at VulcanForms Inc., Newburyport, MA, you will operate CNC Lathe Machines to support manufacturing. VulcanForms Inc. operates in an environmentally controlled, state-of-the-art facility committed to producing quality parts for our clients. We manufacture products for several industries, including aerospace, military and defense, satellite, and medical devices. Please note that the CNC Lathe Machinist position is shift-based.
Key Accountabilities
- Ability to operate a CNC lathe (including work holding, kitting of tools, touching off of tools/establishing offsets, reading of manufacturing drawings, and first article buy-off) on FANUC HAAS and Okuma controls.
- Experience with utilizing a pre-setter offline for tool offsets is a plus.
- Experience with quick-change tooling is a plus.
- Operate, set up, and edit programs on the machines within the department.
- In addition to running machines, the Machinist will periodically inspect parts during production to monitor for consistent dimensional and visual quality.
- Responsible for continuously monitoring equipment and tooling. In the event of a breakdown or other event that would disrupt the process.
- Follow the instructions on the Process sheet, Drawings, and or Programs.
- Teach team members all aspects of machining.
- Helps others identify issues and troubleshoot their work
- Interface/communicate with Quality, Engineering, and other team members.
- Maintains the work area and equipment clean and orderly and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent GED.
- 5+ years of experience with Vertical and Horizontal CNC Milling Center, live tooling lathe, experience with Fanuc, Yasnac or Mazatrol.
- Ability to read Blueprints and have a good understanding of GD&T.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Adhere to and enforce the company's health & safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to and enforce the company's quality policies and procedures.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
Preferred
- Graduate of Advanced Machine Technology Course.
- Knowledge of 5S/6S.
