INTERNAL PAYROLL CONSULTANT

The mission of the Internal HR Consultant is to ensure the timely and accurate processing of weekly payroll and benefits for ProService Hawaii and Obsidian HR. This role is dedicated to delivering exceptional service to employees by addressing their payroll and benefits inquiries and concerns. The Internal HR Consultant also actively supports the HR department by generating reports, conducting audits, managing leave of absence payments, overseeing benefits enrollments, verifying employment, and more. Leveraging their expertise, the Internal HR Consultant handles complex and diverse payroll and benefits tasks and provides guidance and support to the HR department. This individual will have access to sensitive information including company data and employee records; and must exercise the highest level of integrity, confidentiality and discretion at all times.

  • Ensure process driven systems for HR Administration:
    • Payroll:
      • Obtain timecard approvals from Supervisors/Managers
      • Process weekly and supplemental internal payroll (Weekly Payroll, Monthly Commissions/Spiffs, Incentives and NBRs, Bonuses, Anniversaries, Separations, Paybacks, etc.)
      • Audit payroll in great detail to ensure accuracy in internal guidelines, specific changes or requests and compliance with applicable State and Federal regulations.
      • Partner with Tax Compliance on necessary Year End activities (W2s, W2-Cs)
    • Reporting:
      • Provide on demand, recurring and ad-hoc internal HR reports.
      • Annual Internal HR Audit in partnership with Accounting.
    • Benefits:
      • Partner with HR Generalist on healthcare enrollments to ensure accurate payroll deductions are entered into HRIS
      • Track Certification Reimbursements
      • Process and track claims and Leave of Absence (FMLA, TDI, WC, Military, Parental) requests
    • Deliver HR process associated with execution of the internal client lifecycle.

The base compensation for this position is $65,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year depending on experience and qualifications


WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Experience:
    • 5 years payroll experience required. 3 years HR experience preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of State and Federal regulations for all 50 states.
    • Proficient in Prism and/or iSolved preferred.
  • Attention to Detail:
    • Ensures accuracy in all tasks, especially payroll processing and auditing. Maintains detailed records and documentation to prevent errors.
  • Time Management:
    • Prioritizes tasks effectively to meet tight deadlines.
    • Manages multiple responsibilities efficiently without compromising quality.
  • Communication:
    • Communicates clearly and professionally with employees at all levels, including executives.
    • Effectively conveys information and instructions related to payroll and benefits.
    • Committed to delivering exceptional service to internal employees. Addresses questions and concerns promptly and accurately.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Analyzes issues thoroughly and provides practical solutions.
    • Handles complex payroll and benefits scenarios with confidence.
  • Knowledge & Analytical Skills:
    • In-depth understanding of State and Federal regulations related to payroll and benefits.
    • Ensures compliance through regular updates and adherence to legal standards.
    • Capable of interpreting data and generating actionable insights.
    • Conducts audits and assessments to ensure accuracy and compliance.
