Position Overview: The Associate Wealth Architect works directly with the Wealth Architects and clients to assist with wealth management and financial planning. This position is responsible for providing support to and learning from Wealth Architects (WAs) and the Chief Wealth Architect, including data gathering, case design, scenario building, financial plan development and financial plan implementation.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support Advisory Team and entire organization in the day-to-day management of client relationships.
  • Initiate and field client calls on various planning items, miscellaneous requests and advice on various topics; acknowledge client emails, voicemails within 24 hours.
  • Maintain client records (Worldox, CRM, Advisor View, etc.).
  • Update balance sheets.
  • Gather data and create drafts for family goals and priorities and family strategic plans.
  • Conduct Account Map drafting.
  • Conduct Financial Model Drafting (i.e. Financeware, Social Security Analyzer, etc.).
  • Perform special request analyses for clients (e.g., mortgage analysis, social security analysis, cash flow matrix drafting and cash flow analysis, etc.).
  • Follow Client Review Process: prepare materials for client meetings (including Meeting Flight Checklist updates and population); work with other team members to ensure client meetings are prepared for thoroughly and accurately.
  • Attend client meetings and take detailed notes as requested; manage/complete all meeting follow-up items.
  • Ensure clients have Investment Policy Statements (IPSs) and work with Wealth Architects and Investment Department to put IPSs in place and keep them current
  • Review Daily Transaction Summary (ensure money movements, asset transfers, rebalances, etc. execute according to instructions) for assigned client relationships.
  • Review Since Inception and Quarterly Reports (ensure proper titling, benchmarks, billing) for assigned client relationships.
  • Communicate with Client Services team on Account Administration (New Client Paperwork, Money movements).
  • Communicate and coordinate with Investments on Investment Policy Statements, Trades, Rebalancing, etc.
  • Understand, draft and process internal Wealth Management and Financial Planning Agreements; ensures clients have signed Wealth Management or Planning Agreement. Works with WAs and Client Services to draft, amend and process agreements.
  • Interact with other professional advisors to facilitate client-planning work.
  • Assist with special projects as required.
  • Assists in the training and development of fellow Associate Wealth Architects.
  • Able to articulate our planning and investment philosophy and process (internally and externally).
  • Embraces and is able to clearly articulate Firm Vision, Mission and Core Values.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in business, accounting, finance, economics or related experience.
  • 0-5 years of experience in the financial-services industry (preferably with an independent registered advisory firm). Prior experience not always required but preferred.
  • Series 65 license (preferred); pursuing (or willing to pursue) CFP®, CFA, EA, JD, Masters, or PhD.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; experience with CRM, document management, and portfolio management software (preferred); familiarity with custodial platforms such as Schwab, Fidelity and TD Ameritrade is a plus.
