Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Extract, clean, and manipulate financial data from various sources (e.g., databases, spreadsheets) to perform analysis and generate reports.
    • Develop financial models and forecasts based on historical data and market trends.
    • Prepare detailed financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for management and stakeholders.

  2. Financial Performance Monitoring:

    • Monitor key financial metrics, performance indicators, and trends to identify opportunities and risks.
    • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for deviations from budgeted or forecasted financial results.
    • Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reports.

  3. Business Insights and Recommendations:

    • Analyze business operations, financial statements, and market data to provide actionable insights and recommendations.
    • Support strategic initiatives and decision-making processes with data-driven analysis and recommendations.
    • Conduct ad-hoc analysis and special projects as requested by management.

  4. Data Management and Quality Assurance:

    • Implement data management best practices to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
    • Perform data validation and quality assurance checks to maintain reliable financial reporting and analysis.
    • Develop and maintain data models, tools, and automated processes to streamline data workflows.

  5. Technical Skills and Tools:

    • Utilize advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros) and financial modeling techniques.
    • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to create interactive dashboards and visual reports.
    • Experience with SQL or other database querying languages to retrieve and manipulate data.

  6. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, operations, and IT to support data-driven decision-making.
    • Communicate complex financial information and analysis effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Participate in meetings and presentations to discuss findings, insights, and recommendations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or a related field. Master's degree or certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) may be advantageous.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Financial Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role, preferably in a corporate finance or financial services environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in quantitative analysis and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial software (e.g., ERP systems), and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of financial principles, financial markets, and accounting standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
