xScion is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer Consultant to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting our RegTech clients' data transformation initiatives. You will be responsible for building and migrating data assets into a cutting-edge AWS technology stack, leveraging tools like Immuta, Starburst, Collibra, Databricks, Alteryx, and Tableau. This is a hands-on consulting role requiring a strong understanding of data engineering principles, cloud technologies, and data governance best practices.


As a Data Engineer Consultant, You Will:

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to understand their data requirements and design data solutions that align with their business objectives.
  • Build and migrate data pipelines into an AWS cloud environment using a variety of data integration and ETL tools.
  • Implement data governance and security measures using Immuta to ensure data privacy and compliance.
  • Leverage Starburst to enable federated data access and accelerate query performance.
  • Design and develop data models to support reporting and analytics requirements.
  • Build data visualization dashboards and reports using Tableau to provide insights to clients.
  • Perform data ingestion, transformation, and validation activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during testing and validation activities.
  • Provide data engineering consulting expertise, particularly in Starburst and Immuta.
  • Deliver assigned stories, including:
    • Design
    • SQL orchestration
    • Data ingestion pipeline builds
    • Data modeling
    • Coding (including pair programming)
    • Data analytics solutions
    • Code reviews
    • Documentation (including data models)
    • Automated tests
    • Automation, logging, and alerting
    • Troubleshooting and defect resolution
    • Support data migration

To be successful, You need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • US Citizenship is required
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
  • Experience with AWS cloud services, including S3, EC2, RDS, and Redshift.
  • Hands-on experience with Immuta and Starburst.
  • Familiarity with other data tools like Collibra, Databricks, Alteryx, and Tableau is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and keeping up with industry trends.
