A leading cable manufacturing company based in Valparaiso, IN, we specialize in providing reliable, highly engineered cable solutions to meet customers' exact specifications and requirements. Our products include industrial, utility, custom OEM, and broadcast-quality cables, all proudly made in the USA.
Position Overview:
$27.00 to $31.00 Hourly The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for responding to and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, dismantling, repairing, rebuilding, and maintaining machinery and equipment to keep them in optimal condition. Candidates with electrical experience are highly desired for this role. .
Essential Job Functions:
Dismantle, rebuild, and reassemble machinery using hand and power tools.
Install wiring for electronic devices.
Install a wide range of new and used equipment.
Wire new electrical panels based on electrical drawings/prints.
Install both water and electrical plumbing.
Maintain preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
Support required ISO documents/records associated with the maintenance department.
Observe and listen to operating machinery to diagnose malfunctions and determine the need for adjustments or repairs.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Knowledge of electrical wiring and components.
Experience with 120V, 240V, 480V 3 phase, and low voltage controls.
AC/DC motor controls knowledge.
Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Forklift driving experience desired.
Qualifications:
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
2-5 years of experience working as a Maintenance Technician or Electrical Technician, maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical problems.
Knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements, including Lock Out/Tag Out, electrical codes, waste disposal, etc.
Shift Schedule:
6:00 am - 6:00 pm (Swing Shift)
6:00 pm - 6:00 am (Swing Shift)
2:30 pm - 11:00 pm (2nd Shift)
