Asbury Gardens is looking for a compassionate and driven activity aide on our Skilled Nursing unit to assist the Activities Director in planning and implementing of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs of activities for our residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists Director of Activities in planning and implementing a well-rounded activity program.
  2. Leads programs and encourages resident participation.
  3. Assists with special events, theme days and facility celebrations.
  4. Familiarity with crafts, games and the interests of the resident population.
  5. Ability to be creative, to develop new program ideas, and to work with a minimum of supervision.
  6. Works in a cooperative manner with other departments and volunteers.
  7. Shares responsibility of keeping equipment and storage areas in proper condition.
  8. Communicate in a positive and cooperative manner with all staff, management, residents, and family members and outside entities consistent with the policies.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Activity Director or Administrator

Education:

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
  • Ability not to pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the work place.
  • Ability to meet the general health requirements set forth by the polices of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of three feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of three feet.
