JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma.
  • Prefer certification or be working on certification by the Association of Professional Chaplains and/or have an accreditation from a school of Lutheran Theology or Ordination.

Experience:

  • Experience in a health care setting is helpful.

SHIFT:

This position is part-time and hours will vary to meet the needs of the Bethesda campus.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of your job position is to be responsible for the implementation of a spiritual and religious foundation with personal counseling or guidance to residents, family members and employees. The Spiritual Care Coordinator will provide emotional and spiritual support to residents, families, and staff. The Incumbent will maintain ongoing relationships with member Lutheran Congregations and area Clergy to encourage their involvement and participation in our ministry and spiritual requests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the spiritual services of the Bethesda organizations.
  • Abide by the duties in the Spiritual Care Guide.
  • Demonstrate responsibility, accountability, and dependability.
  • Make recommendations for supplies and equipment.
  • Report problems to the Administrator.
  • Coordinate with other departments.
