Our client is revolutionizing the renewable energy landscape by maximizing the energy production of renewable energy sources through cutting-edge engineering, advanced algorithms, and machine learning. They are currently seeking a Data Scientist to join their team at their headquarters. This is a hybrid position offering flexibility and collaboration in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Data Scientist Role:
As a Data Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in developing industry-leading solutions using data science and machine learning techniques to address challenges related to renewable asset health and performance optimization. Collaborating closely with subject matter experts and software developers, you will drive innovation and contribute to our client's mission of revolutionizing renewable energy.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business objectives into actionable data and analytics solutions, delivering valuable insights.
- Mine and analyze large datasets to identify opportunities and develop effective solutions.
- Evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of data sources.
- Develop and implement data models and algorithms to optimize asset performance and health.
- Utilize predictive modeling techniques to drive continuous improvement in asset performance.
- Create reusable frameworks, models, and components to facilitate rapid prototyping.
- Establish processes and tools for monitoring model performance and data accuracy.
- Promote best practices in data science and machine learning across the organization.
Must have skills:
- Degree or professional qualifications or similar in computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, or mathematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on product development.
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning or analytics.
- Proficiency in data science and machine learning concepts, algorithms, and techniques.
- Knowledge of Python programming and/or other machine learning common frameworks
- Experience with a cloud platforms such as AWS or similar
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to colleagues and clients.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and offices in a fast-paced environment.
Good to have:
- Knowledge of renewable energy operations and plants.
- Experience building and managing systems using AWS cloud infrastructure.
- Proficiency with distributed computing engines such as Dask, Ray, Spark or similar.
- Experience with big data technologies and distributed computing engines
