We are seeking an experienced Environmental Planner to join our team. This role involves conducting and leading siting/routing studies, preparing technical writing for environmental planning documents, and managing multiple projects at various stages. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in linear infrastructure planning, and the ability to travel up to 30% of the time.Responsibilities:
Conduct and lead siting/routing studies
Assist with public outreach tasks, including reviewing and preparing news releases and fact sheets as part of the siting/routing process
Prepare and review technical writing for environmental planning and analysis documents
Prepare and assist with local zoning or permit applications
Assist senior staff with project controls, team coordination, budget, and forecasting
Prepare proposals and cost estimates for business development efforts
Lead internal and external staff and project coordination meetings
Prepare and review project schedules and milestones
Interface with internal and external project managers/staff, clients, and sub-contractors
Research local, state, and federal permitting requirements
Manage multiple projects at various stages, disciplines, and locations
Perform other duties as assigned
Attend and participate in open house and public meeting environments
Willingness to travel up to 30% for site visits and client meetingsPrimary Skills:
BS degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, or related degree
Five to ten (5-10) years of experience
Experience in linear infrastructure planning, including siting and routing transmission lines and gas pipelines
Knowledge and interest in federal, state, and local environmental policy and regulation
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team and collaborative environment, both internally and with clients
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to lead a team and provide guidance to junior or entry-level staff
Experience in proposal writing and presentations
Strong writing skillsSecondary Skills:
Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS and Adobe Creative Suite computer applications
MS degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, or related degreeQualifications:
Self-starter willing to tackle a variety of tasks simultaneously
