As a core Technical Product Leader for EverQuote you will help millions of consumers protect their most valuable assets by super-powering our decision making and product experiences with Machine Learning & AI. You will be a major driver of strategic, transformative growth for EverQuote overall, design and operationalize an industry-leading consumer experience, and support the successful growth of our insurance partners.

You envision, design, deliver, plan and drive tech innovations to enable critical business operations. You own the roadmap, adoption, operation, business value, and lifecycle of analytical platforms and systems at EverQuote. You own relationships with the users of your technology and you partner with stakeholders to define and execute a strategy that drives value-multiplied output for our business. You are data-driven in your thinking, and lead discussions with data. You will build partnerships -- up, down, and across -- with Product Managers, Architects and Engineers. You will define metrics to measure progress and value of engineering output. You will provide direct visibility to senior leadership on all aspects of your programs on a regular cadenceYou must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, be analytical and possess excellent problem-solving skills. You communicate with clarity, both orally and in writing, and excel in stakeholder relationship management. You have a strong data and analytics background with experience in agile development cycles, and in managing and delivering large cross-functional programs. You have grit, are prepared to handle rapid-changes in an evolving environment, and are able to respond to escalations with data and causal analysis.

Lastly and most importantly, you must be passionate about data, analytics and removing all friction that stands between employees and making data-driven insights and decisions.

You will:

  • Owns the product roadmap for Machine Learning Engineering & Data Science. Defines a holistic long-term product strategy/vision, and new features to meet emerging needs across Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering and stakeholders.
  • Influences strategic direction of the ML & Data Science team at EverQuote working with Architects and Engineers to build a business case for the roadmap and investments.
  • Communicates project/initiative updates with the broader business audience
  • Understands patterns and core technologies utilized in model training, development and deployment. Fluent in technical alternatives/pros and cons. Decomposes significantly complex technical propositions into straightforward solutions
  • Identify the needs of internal customers and develop strategies to meet business demands, work with the necessary departments to implement the latest technology, and monitor progress.
  • Understands and drives adoption of best in class Agile processes; works closely with engineering to ensure the right outcomes
  • Uses a combination of metrics, research and intuition to evaluate opportunities, establish roadmaps and build solutions
  • Possess a continuous learner and continuous improvement mindset
  • Coaches and advises across both tech and non-technical product roles, constantly driving better execution and optimal sequencing of work

You have:

  • 10+ years of engineering, product management, or relevant experience at an Internet and/or Technology company
  • Broad technical knowledge of data science, machine learning and data engineering
  • Fluency in SQL for self-service data analysis purposes
  • Deep experience leading cross-functional teams to deliver distinctive impact in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Documented ability to think strategically and execute solutions to address both defined and undefined problems
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organization
  • Previous experience with platforms for serving data science models
