Accelevir Diagnostics is a growing Maryland biotechnology company creating innovative assays for ultra-rare analytes in infectious disease and beyond. With expertise spanning virology, immunology, and genomics, our team develops, scales, and commercializes complex assay workflows to support our biopharma partners from basic research through clinical trials. To expand our growing assay services team, we are looking for a Molecular Virology Technician desiring to work in an intellectually challenging and fast paced start-up environment.

About the Role:

In this role, you will primarily focus on performing established wet-laboratory assay protocols, recording data, contributing to the transfer of new assay protocols, monitoring laboratory inventory, and supporting maintenance of established laboratory workflows. Successful applicants will demonstrate their ability to follow strict laboratory protocols while working within a compliance driven environment. This position will require extended hands-on work within a BSL-2+ laboratory environment handling infectious samples (e.g., HIV, HBV, HCV).  As such, successful applicants will be required to demonstrate their ability to maintain safe laboratory working conditions and adhere to required PPE and biosafety procedures.

Essential Laboratory Skills:

  • Proficient pipetting skills, specifically in aseptic and/or molecular assay environments
  • Hands-on experience with basic molecular biology techniques, including nucleic acid isolation and PCR
  • Motivated self-starter with demonstrated ability to learn and execute new laboratory techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed laboratory notes and documentation.
  • MS Office proficiency

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • AS in Biology or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience; OR
  • BS in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology or related field
