The Supervisor of Health and Wellness is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the Health and Wellness staff within clinical services for all lines of business dependent on governmental contracts, federal and state regulations, and plan documents. They are responsible for ensuring proper staffing levels, work assignments, performance evaluation of staff members, and monitoring/reporting of services/outcomes, serving as a subject matter expert on policies, procedures, workflows, and wellness material content. They are responsible for ensuring operations within their unit are consistent with The Health Plan operational standards. They are an integral part of wellness program development in response to population health analysis and program experience, along with impact reporting and member educational tool selection.

Required:

  1. A bachelor's degree in Health Promotion, Health Education, or a related field.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a health field.
  3. Display expert knowledge of health and wellness information.
  4. Strong communication and leadership skills.
  5. Effective organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  6. Problem solving, program development, and computer skills.
  7. Ability to analyze data and employ approved management techniques and statistical tools to obtain maximum effectiveness, efficiency, and information.
  8. Ability to direct, instruct, and advise staff in approved methods, procedures, and practices employed in effective health and life coaching.
  9. Establish priorities, meet deadlines, develop and manage the department's productivity for timely completion of work assignments.

Desired:

  1. Knowledge of accreditation standards, federal and state standards/regulations, and familiarity with HEDIS, STARs, CAHPS, and HOS.
  2. Certified Health Coach OR Certified Life Coach OR American Lung Association Certified Tobacco Cessation Facilitator.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, monitor, and oversee health and wellness team members responsible for campaigns for low acuity/healthy member education and care planning.
  2. Orient new Health and Wellness team members to department policies, procedures and system functions.
  3. Assist Director of Health Equity and Wellness in implementation and performance of clinical department plans, programs, and related reporting tied to health and wellness.
  4. Participate in development/maintenance of tools/handouts, work flows, policies, and procedures to support staff education and adherence to company directives.
  5. Create and maintain accurate quality reporting for team members inclusive of monthly productivity reports and inter-rater reviews.
  6. Develop/implement targeted wellness programs inclusive of monthly/quarterly/annual and ad hoc campaigns consisting of social media pushes, emails, or call center activities designed to achieve specially stated goals relevant to population health management and governmental contract compliance.
  7. Test, monitor, and participate in evaluation of member educational tools.
  8. Communicate team expectations in a clear and concise manner.
  9. Monitor ADP and approve/deny time off requests.
  10. Participate on committees as assigned.
  11. Share with Director of Health Equity and Wellness the responsibility of collecting, analyzing, evaluating, and presenting clinical management and operational data to various audiences.
