Versar is seeking an Aviation Structural Analyst to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Short Range Recovery (SRR) H-65 Product Line at the Aviation Logistics Center in Elizabeth City, NC.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis in support of SRR aircraft modification and sustainment programs to include but not limited to: engineering change proposals, new product design/development, ergonomics / aircraft layout, component fabrication, prototyping, technical data package and service request development, technical orders, aircraft configuration change packages, supply inventory management, maintenance procedures development, graphics/drawing updates, parts lists, and SRR technical briefing packages.
  • Conduct structures quality assurance checks in support of SRR aircraft modification programs and related sustainment.
  • Work independently and take a proactive approach in researching existing and potential SRR aircraft mechanical, hydraulic and structural systems, designs, component and performance requirements, operating parameters and related technical elements required to execute SRR upgrades and sustainment.
  • Identify emergent and projected structural anomalies impacting any phase of SRR upgrade and sustainment, and ensure USCG managers are apprised of related risks, impacts and potential solutions.

Position Qualifications:

  • Must have ten (10) years of USCG or DOD structures experience in the areas of design, modification, repair, prototyping, installation, testing, verification, validation, certification, and sustainment of aircraft structures. Relevant experience shall be identified as experience obtained within fifteen (15) years of solicitation release date.
  • Must have a minimum of ten (10) years practical experience in aircraft primary, secondary, and tertiary structures to include but not limited to: maintenance and repair of metal, alloy, plastics, and composites. Relevant experience shall be identified as experience obtained within fifteen (15) years of solicitation release date.
  • Experience with H-65 structures is desired.
  • Experience in developing maintenance procedures and technical orders is desired.
  • Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite programs: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and know how to use these tools for communication and suitable presentations of research results and recommendations.
  • Must be proficient in identifying, locating, and researching USCG or equivalent DHS/DOD, Federal, and industry technical publications, process guides, manuals, instructions and related guidance and instructional documentation necessary for modification, testing, certification, and sustainment of SRR aircraft.
  • Must be proficient in the use of USCG or equivalent DHS/DOD supply management software to include but not limited to: AMMIS, ACMS, ALMIS and FEDLOG.
