We have grown to over 130 employees and specialize in road signs, guardrail, high-tension cable barriers, fencing, drilled shafts, traffic control, and structural foundations. We construct the most cost-effective and desirable product by working directly with owners' architects, designers, and representatives. We aim to provide premium workmanship at a great value while maintaining a safety-first environment.

We are looking for a full-time temporary employee at our Woodhaven location to assist with various responsibilities around our warehouse and yard. Hours will vary depending on the volume of work available.

Some of the duties may include:

  • Loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Assisting in maintaining our MOT devices onsite
  • Assisting in building cages, which can include welding.
  • Keep the yard/warehouse clean and organized
  • Must be willing to work outdoors.
  • Other duties as assigned

We teach our yard workers on the job how to build our cages and, if interested, may be able to relocate to our new Merill Yard in Ashley, MI, in 2025. We also have opportunities to move from a yard role into a field worker role, working around the state and making prevailing wages while working on our Michigan Highway system projects.

Qualifications:

  • Driver's License - Required
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Works well in a team environment where situations and demands change daily.
  • Effective Communication Skills

Skills and Experience:

  • Construction experience- Preferred but not required
  • Power tool operation
  • Ability to work as a team and exhibit Leadership qualities
  • Welding experience
  • Has a safety-first mentality in all areas of the job.
  • Ability to accurately read a level and a tape measure.

Work Requirements:

  • Ability to perform manual labor as required in an outdoor environment in the heat, sun, cold, and rain

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, climb, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, view, and create written documents. The employee uses hand strength to grasp tools and climb ladders or uneven terrain. The employee must frequently reach with hands and arms, such as operating and repairing vibrating machinery, using wrenches, hand tools, etc., and operating motorized equipment and vehicles. The employee must lift or push/pull objects up to 75 lbs. without assistance and up to 100 with assistance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
