The Content Manager’s manager is to drive organic growth and engagement through strategic, high-quality, content. They are responsible for developing and executing the overall content strategy for our blog. This role involves overseeing the content calendar, determining what content needs updating, creating new content plans, and delegating writing tasks to the team. The Content Manager will leverage their expertise in digital marketing to ensure all content is valuable, optimized, and aligned with our brand standards.

Responsibilities:

Content Strategy and Execution

  • Develop and manage the content calendar, including deciding what content to update and what new content to create.
  • Oversee the execution of content plans, ensuring alignment with overall marketing and business goals.
  • Track, analyze, and report on the performance of blog content, adapting strategies based on data insights.

Team Management and Collaboration

  • Delegate content creation tasks to the team’s writer, providing guidance and editorial feedback.
  • Collaborate with the SEO team regularly to ensure content strategy is aligned and content is optimized for search engines.
  • Guide the writer(s) on using AI tools to enhance content creation efficiency and quality.

AI Integration in Content Workflow

  • Consistently use AI tools to improve content strategy and workflow.
  • Train and support team members in utilizing AI technologies for content creation and optimization.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure all content meets editorial standards, including grammar, brand voice, and factual accuracy.
  • Maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal content guidelines.

Performance Management

  • Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to blog performance, including organic traffic growth, engagement rates, and conversion rates.
  • Regularly review and adjust content strategies to meet or exceed KPIs.

Requirements

You are someone who has:

  • Extensive experience in digital marketing, content strategy, and content management.
  • Proficiency with AI tools for content creation/optimizations, such as ChatGPT, SurferSEO, and the ability to guide writers in their use.
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and how they apply to content strategy.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with a focus on accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to analyze data and adjust strategies based on performance metrics.
  • Experience in managing content teams and providing constructive editorial feedback.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and best practices in content compliance.

Prior Experience:

  1. 4+ years of experience in content strategy and digital marketing with a proven track record of managing successful content initiatives.
  2. Advanced proficiency in content management systems (e.g., WordPress, HubSpot) and experience managing a blog or similar content platform.
  3. Proficiency in AI writing tools (e.g., ChatGPT, SurferSEO, Perplexity) and experience integrating AI into content workflows to enhance efficiency and quality.
  4. Strong understanding of SEO principles and experience optimizing content for search engines, including keyword research, on-page SEO, and link-building strategies.
  5. Experience with content performance analysis using tools like Google Analytics, Ahrefs, or similar platforms, with a focus on tracking KPIs and making data-driven decisions.
  6. Experience in editing and quality control with a keen eye for detail, ensuring all content is accurate, compliant, and aligned with brand voice.
  7. Experience in mentoring or managing content creators, providing guidance on best practices and AI tool utilization.
  8. Knowledge of industry regulations and experience ensuring content compliance with legal and editorial standards.
