Do you like variety in your job duties? A change of pace to keep things interesting? Then this is the position for you As our floater – your core duties will change daily. This full-time position will have you rotating between cooking duties and prep duties.

Whether you are cooking or helping to prepare the meal you will aid and guide our dietary aides in the correct preparation, presentation & distribution of the meals from our professional kitchen. Misericordia’s Dietary department prides itself in bringing the best candidates into our close-knit team. We actively train, support and develop our team members according to their interest and long-term goals. We aspire to promote from within for those qualified and passionate team members who wish to grow.

As our Flex Prep Cook your duties would include:

  • Using your skills to freshly prep and/or prepare appetizing meals for our residents.
  • Assist our Cooks in the preparation of food as needed.
  • Coordinatizing food service to our residents
  • Following all sanitary regulations as established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health, to ensure that the meals are not only appealing to see and to eat but have been safely prepared.
  • Following our residents’ individualized meal plans by using specialized recipes to adhere to any diet restrictions and ensuring all items are present for meal service.
  • Operating standard kitchen equipment safety according to training and experience (We observe all state & federal age requirements for the operation of power-driven equipment).
  • Adhering to all sanitation and food production codes.
  • Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, utensils, dishware, and appliances.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience is preferred, in a long-term care or senior care facility is a plus.
  • A positive, upbeat attitude and the ability to cooperate with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong and courteous customer service skills, to work within a diverse workforce while providing service to our residents, family members, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
