NRHC is actively recruiting a dedicated and experienced Family Nurse Practitioner for our established medical facility located in northern California. This role is strictly outpatient, in a primary care practice setting, providing a very Family Nurse Practitioner-friendly environment with ample opportunities for growth. The clinic operates Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM, with an option for providers to work 4-day, 10-hour shifts upon approval by the Medical Director. Enjoy a balanced work-life schedule with no night shifts and the Urgent Care open on Saturdays. Typical patient volume ranges from 13-16 patients per 8-hour shift or 20 patients in a 10-hour shift. You will have the opportunity to care for patients of all age groups.
Key ResponsibilitiesSummaryThe Family Nurse Practitioner will plan, direct, and evaluate resident and employee healthcare in ambulatory health services. Responsibilities include examining and treating chronic and acute illnesses, minor injuries, performing selected laboratory tests, providing referrals, writing prescriptions, and performing office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment. Collaboration with the Medical Director in the care and treatment of patients and staff is essential.
Duties/Responsibilities- Patient Orientation: Meet with new residents to introduce them to services, identify needs, and suggest local physicians and services.
- Patient Care:
- See ambulatory patients for laboratory testing, examination, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic and acute illnesses and minor injuries.
- Refer patients to physicians as needed, write prescriptions, and perform office procedures.
- Make house calls when necessary and schedule follow-up visits.
- Perform physical examinations including pap tests.
- Health Promotion:
- Conduct support groups on physical and emotional health topics.
- Coordinate health promotion activities such as distributing printed information, routine testing, flu shots, and mammograms.
- Staff Care:
- Perform staff employment physicals, TB testing, and examine staff after on-the-job accidents or injuries.
- Resource and Coordination:
- Act as a resource person for decisions, planning, and policies affecting the health of residents and staff.
- Maintain outpatient records, record statistics, and conduct research as needed.
- Collaborate with staff to identify patients' needs and develop plans to meet these needs.
- Serve as a member of committees dealing with healthcare.
- Communication:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Organization:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Valid California Nurse Practitioner license.
