We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Azure Architect with expertise in VMware to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud architecture, particularly with Microsoft Azure, and extensive knowledge of virtualization technologies, specifically VMware. This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions that leverage Azure services and integrate with VMware environments to support our organization's infrastructure and application needs.

Responsibilities:
    1. Lead the design and implementation of cloud solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform, leveraging a combination of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings.
    2. Architect and deploy Azure resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, networking components, and security features to meet business requirements and performance objectives.
    3. Design and implement hybrid cloud solutions that integrate Azure services with on-premises VMware environments, utilizing technologies such as Azure VMware Solution (AVS), Azure Stack, and VMware Cloud on AWS.
    4. Provide technical leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, including infrastructure engineers, system administrators, and developers, to ensure alignment with architectural best practices and industry standards.
    5. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define technical solutions, and develop migration strategies for transitioning workloads from on-premises VMware environments to Azure.
    6. Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, documentation, and implementation plans to support project delivery and ongoing operations.
    7. Conduct performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting of Azure resources and VMware infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
    8. Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in cloud computing, virtualization, and infrastructure management, and evaluate their potential impact on our organization's architecture and strategy.
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure design, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.

  • Strong proficiency in VMware virtualization technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience.

  • Microsoft Azure certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert preferred.

  • Experience designing and implementing hybrid cloud solutions using Azure VMware Solution (AVS), Azure Stack, or VMware Cloud on AWS.

  • Solid understanding of networking concepts, including VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, and routing protocols, as they relate to cloud and hybrid cloud environments.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
