Summary
As a member of the Sales team, the Technical Sales Representative maintains, develops, and grows sales within the assigned territory consistent with the overall goals and objectives of HA International.
Essential Functions
- Identifies opportunities for sales expansion and recommends specific action plans to accomplish. Manages and coordinate sales efforts of assigned national accounts.
- Demonstrates products/services and assists in the selection most applicable to customers’ needs.
- Communicates pricing, terms, delivery dates, etc. on orders.
- ·Responds promptly to all needs and requests from within territory (e.g., customer concerns, technical issues, etc.). Acts as liaison between customers and HA International.
- Identifies key personnel at accounts and cultivates relationships.
- Submits sales plans, goals, and objectives for territory to National Sales Manager.
- Plans and organizes territory to ensure efficient and effective territory management.
- Implements action plans, technical seminars, and coordinates support personnel, etc.
- Reports on current or changes in account status/usage and competitive activity. Submits specific customer action plans as needed/requested.
- Reports on industry/market area activity, new applications, requirements, and trends.
- Attends trade shows and conferences.
- Submits weekly expense accounts, itineraries, and sales summaries.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No supervisory responsibilities with this role.
Location
Remote. Illinois and Indiana positions available. This position will travel within a territory. Only candidates residing within the assigned territory will be considered.

Requirements:Skills and Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. in Business, Marketing or Technical Degree (Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, etc.) preferred.
- Knowledge of the foundry, metal casting process, markets, and overall business environment in the foundry industry required.
- 1-3 years’ experience in sales and marketing of technical products.
- Proven prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills with a track record of delivering results.
- Has a positive attitude with excellent communication, interpersonal and listening skills.
- A self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Office 365. A working knowledge of SAP and CRM is a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and pass a driving record background check.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Work Environment
The work environment will be a combination of a home office environment when working from home and an industrial environment when visiting our facilities, customers, or suppliers.
While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Safety apparel and equipment such as gloves, hardhats, safety glasses, and safety boots must be worn as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to drive, stand, and walk for extended periods
- If fieldwork is required, it involves working in extreme weather conditions and involves physical work such as handling equipment.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in support of field work as needed.
Travel
Travel is required up to 80% of the time, including overnight stays.
