MRCI is looking for dependable people that enjoy working with others, can problem solve using sound common sense, and have a sense of humor. EASE (Embracing Aging Through Social Engagement) is an in-house program for people with disabilities who are typically 55+ seeking meaningful experiences to fill their day. This position will allow you to give back to the community while having flexibility, training, and advancement opportunities

Starting pay is $16.11 per hour and varies depending on previous experience.

Hours: As needed, up to 20 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Position Perks: No Nights, Weekends, or Holidays

The EASE Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of center-based, person-centered day service plans for individuals with disabilities and/or disadvantages. As a strong communicator, the EASE Specialist will also ensure regular communication with clients, client teams, funders, employers, co-workers and community members as well as closely tracking all day services activity.

In this position, you will:

  • Develop, plan and coordinate individualized, community-based leisure activities for program participants to promote greater community independence, skills and social interaction.
  • Provide daily direct support/direct care to clients with disabilities and/or disadvantages. Duties may include medication administration, use of adaptive equipment, personal care support, and driving.
  • Complete paperwork and implement protocols.
  • Transport clients.
  • Monitor assigned day support service programming to analyze efficiency and effectiveness and implement changes to maximize effectiveness of the program.
  • Recruit, retain and recognize a range of volunteers.
  • Utilize technology and processes to ensure timely communication and make cold calls.
  • Work independently, and do so while collaborating with a team and meeting personal goals.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • High School diploma/equivalent plus two years of related work experience, preferably working with persons with developmental disabilities or related conditions.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Must clear a background study through the Department of Human Services.
