The Director of IT is responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic planning, development, and implementation of digital transformation initiatives within the organization, with a focus on leveraging Infor LN and Aegis MES systems. This role involves driving innovation, enhancing operational efficiency, and optimizing business processes through the effective utilization of technology solutions. The Director of IT collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to align digital transformation efforts with organizational objectives and to ensure seamless integration and adoption of new technologies. The role reports to the Executive Vice President of Operations and has (4) direct reports for all IT and system integration activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Long-term strategic projects consist of various tasks, such as integrating ERP (Infor) and MES (Aegis), establishing business intelligence and dashboards, planning capacity, tracking labor, and migrating ERP to the cloud.
  • Proficiency in Infor LN and Aegis MES systems, including configuration, customization, and optimization.

Strategic thinking and vision to identify opportunities for digital transformation and innovation within the EMS industry.

  • Provide leadership on systems projects, scope, definition, & performance to ensure alignment with Microboard’s Strategic Plan.
  • Responsible for the movement of data between systems and data stores (purchased solutions and those developed in-house), maintaining the integrity of data, providing for required transformations, and ensuring error-free, timely, and documented execution.
  • Lead improvement and automation projects for a wide range of systems that include: Aegis, Infor, FUJI platforms, QuoteWin, MyLabel, CRM solution, and other systems.
  • Integrate multiple data sources and systems, and collaborate efforts across business unit functions to create KPI reporting for the business.
  • Work with the Executive Team and Departmental Leaders to determine and design changes to existing systems and integrations that improve performance or enhance operations as driven by business needs.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Team and Departmental Leaders to identify needed reporting and analytics, design required business logic to the processes, optimize and automate the processes, and maintain documentation and change control of the processes on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead cross functional teams on ERP/MES upgrades and implement industry best practices, logging all technical upgrade steps. Manage system testing and rollout activities.
  • Participate in the creation of our Industry 4.0 roadmap (to include augmented reality) and lead efforts to establish system integration plans.
  • Partner with IT and FSO to ensure systems are secure and proper controls are implemented.
  • Drive & foster a culture of continuous improvement related to core systems and technology.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills to effectively lead and oversee digital transformation initiatives.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills to identify and address challenges related to digital transformation.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Change management expertise to facilitate organizational adoption of new technologies and processes.
  • Continuous learning mindset to stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in digital transformation.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
  • Proficiency in Infor LN and Aegis MES systems, including configuration, customization, and optimization.
  • Relevant certifications in Infor LN, Aegis MES, project management, or digital transformation are a plus.
  • Experience with Aegis is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible experience as a Technology Consultant, Business Analyst, or in a related IT position. IT manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience in managing complex IT projects and initiatives, from conception to implementation and beyond.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills to garner support and buy-in for digital transformation efforts across the organization.
  • Experience with systems engineering and integration of complex systems.
  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives.
  • Experience in designing technology strategy, technology diligence, ERP implementations, FP&A system implementations, Business Intelligence and data warehouse.
  • A fundamental understanding of Industry 4.0, IoT solutions and their operational dependencies.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong ERP/MES product knowledge, including 5+ years of Infor ERP experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Windows.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, delivers high-quality work, self-motivated and an internal desire to succeed.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills to effectively lead and oversee digital transformation
