Responsible for initiating, coordinating, and managing all investigational and evaluation activities associated with professional and general liability occurrences and claim pre-litigation files. Negotiates resolution with authority from the Vice President. Collaborates and consults on complaints/concerns identified by Patient Relations that have risk management implications. This position will also monitor organizational event reporting with primary focus on incidents involving harm or potential liability and working with Quality/Patient Safety on trending to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Public Policy, Hospital Administration or a bachelor’s degree in a clinical field with i.e. RN, RT etc. with current licensure in the state of North Carolina.
- At least three years' experience in one or more of the following fields: patient care, public policy, health care administration, business administration, and/or legal support insurance/claims investigation and settlement, required.
- Associate in Risk Management or certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management desired.
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers and business software (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Excellent analytical skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to work well under stressful conditions and be able to handle a variety of work situations and meet deadlines.
