Job DescriptionJob Description

As the Senior Manager of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the operational processes and effectiveness of our Biometric Business Unit. You will spearhead strategies aimed at boosting productivity, streamlining procedures, and fostering sustainable growth within our organization. Your adept leadership skills will be instrumental in orchestrating collaboration among diverse teams, aligning objectives, and ensuring seamless day-to-day operations. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations within the Biometric BU, you will be a key driver of our success.

In addition to elevating customer satisfaction and refining operational efficiency through strategic supply chain management, the Senior Manager of Operations will oversee our Contract Manufacturer, a critical component of our achievements. Your focus will be on managing Contract Manufacturer delivery schedules, maintaining quality standards, and optimizing costs to meet our delivery and revenue targets.

Effective inventory control, cost management within the PBG, and management of Purchase Price Variance (PPV) will be paramount in our Contract Manufacturer oversight. Furthermore, you will collaborate with Sales and Planning teams to ensure alignment between operational revenues by conducting regular analyses of revenue metrics, order backlogs, and projected end-of-month revenue positions and inventory projections.

A data-driven approach will be central to your decision-making process, employing tools like Pareto and Trend Analysis to drive continuous improvements in on-time delivery, inventory management, and cost optimization. Regular review of Contract Manufacturer yield will be essential for our ongoing success.

As the focal point for New Product Introduction (NPI) program transfers to our Contract Manufacturer, you will lead the Manufacturing Engineering team, collaborating closely with Engineering to establish production lines. Your responsibilities will also include ensuring comprehensive training programs at the Contract Manufacturer to prepare for ramp-up and mass production, as well as implementing control plans for critical processes to maintain quality standards.

Your contributions as our Senior Manager of Operations will encompass:

Planning and Leadership:

  • Identifying and addressing operational inefficiencies and proposing initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Coordinating NPI activities related to purchasing, forecasting, and capacity planning.
  • Leadership and Development:
  • Providing strong leadership to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruiting, training, and developing talented individuals to build a high-performing operations team.

Process Optimization:

  • Conducting thorough analyses of existing processes to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
  • Implementing process improvement methodologies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Establishing KPIs and metrics to measure operational performance and analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Preparing regular reports for senior management and implementing measures to control inventory purchases and minimize PPV costs.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Identifying operational risks and developing strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborating with executives, department heads, and external partners to align operational objectives and initiatives.
  • Building strong relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure timely delivery of goods and services and communicating operational updates effectively.

Ideal background:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of implementing process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with proficiency in Oracle ERP and MS Office applications.
  • Leadership experience overseeing operations, preferably in a related industry.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or Industrial Engineering, with a preference for planning and logistics management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in biometrics and Contract Manufacturer management, along with familiarity with SMT and semiconductor processes.

In addition, proficiency in Agile PLM and advanced Excel skills are preferred, along with a commitment to providing high-quality products and embodying customer-centric principles in your work.
