Position Summary
The Foreman is responsible for overseeing a crew and/or contract staff in the normal day-to-day operations of company wells. The focus is on striving to achieve top quartile EHS performance while maximizing operational efficiencies and asset potential. Supervises the development and monitoring of specific field operation discipline (Production, Completions, Maintenance, Measurement, Fluid Movement, SCADA, Artificial Lift and Construction) enhancement and optimization efforts. Works in close collaboration with engineering, field and EHS staff.
Essential Roles & Responsibilities
- In addition to the technical roles and responsibilities of a foreman of the specific discipline, the foreman is also responsible for the following:
- Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings, providing production operations discipline specific input
- Develops good relationships with and effectively manages contractors and suppliers
- Handles invoice management
- Provides production operations discipline input into the budget process and collaborates with superintendent and management to develop budget estimates
- Confers with engineering personnel regarding status of projects and field related problems
- Ensures completions and production operations are scheduled and conducted in such a way to minimize delays, safety issues, technical issues and risks
- Confirms well site contractors are properly approved with SCM Group
- Actively participate in monthly safety meetings and lead meetings as needed
- Provide relief for the other foreman as needed
- On site supervision of contractors involved in workover and completion operations of oil and gas wells including acid and fracturing operations, coil tubing units, workover units, water handling, flow back services, roustabouts, cased-hole logging, and fishing operations Supervises and ensures performance is of the highest quality for all direct reports
- Participates in the performance reviews and personnel development efforts for all direct reports Remains current in the application of the latest proven technologies and methods used for their specific operation discipline in the production of oil and gas assets
- Regular field trips with ability to work extended hours when required
- Conducts business with the highest ethical standards
Computer/Software Applications
Proficient level of skill in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
Demonstrated proficiency with industry/company software including, but not limited to, AVM, Wellview, XSPOC, Pi, and Ignition.

- Supervise, direct and coordinate field employees and contractors engaged in production operations
- Maximize production by monitoring well performance, minimizing downtime and addressing issues
- Confer with engineering personnel regarding status of projects and field related problems
- Collaborate with management to develop and execute surveillance projects
- Develop SOPs and communication workflows for operators when remotely monitoring assets
- Mentor surveillance room operators on new technology and surveillance practices
Typical Education
High School Degree or equivalent Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree a plus A valid driver’s license is required.
Typical Experience
Minimum 8 years of oil and gas experience.
