Intake Coordinator

Aegis Health Care is currently seeking a dependable, and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator. Aegis specializes in providing care for hospice and home health patients. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday 8am-5pm in our Anchorage office.


The Intake Coordinator is an important part of the Aegis Health Care team. The Intake Coordinator works behind the scenes of patient care. Responsibilities include speaking on the phone to referral sources, collecting information, completing authorizations, verifying insurance, ensuring patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Answer and receive phone calls promptly and courteously
  • Respond to requests in an accurate and timely manner
  • Triage phone calls as appropriate
  • Establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships
  • Maintain incoming fax reports
  • Provide clerical support
  • Obtain medical records
  • Provide medical referrals
  • Complete insurance verification
  • Comply with privacy/confidentiality policies and regulations

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Adaptive problem-solving skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Service oriented mindset
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable automobile
  • Proof of current automobile insurance
  • Criminal background check clearance/fingerprint clearance
  • Negative TB test
  • Must be at least (18) years of age

Working Environment:

  • Works indoors at Agency and occasional travel for office duties.
