Accountant – Columbia SC

We have partnered with a construction company in Columbia that's seeking an accounting professional. The Staff Accountant will handle a variety of day-to-day accounting tasks and will execute the A/P and A/R process, monthly reconciliation and various cost and fixed assets related construction accounting functions.

This is a permanent, direct hire opportunity. The role is full-time and salaried.

Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Perform monthly reconciliations
  • Maintain fixed assets
  • Work closely with construction teams to maintain accounting records and reports and assist with job costing and transactions
  • Support payroll by providing time and data inputs for submittal to the external processor

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of A/P, A/R and or general accounting experience
  • Construction and or cost accounting preferred
  • Excellent MS Excel skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Solid problem solving and critical thinking capabilities
  • Must be able to manage competing priorities to meet daily operational needs and deadlines
