The Role

As a Digital Sales Representative, you will focus on driving revenue growth by generating new business opportunities and nurture existing accounts. You will manage a high volume of available leads across a wide variety of industries and applications by leveraging advanced phone and email qualification skills and product, service, industry, and workflow knowledge. While working with end users and key purchasing contacts, you will close opportunities to achieve individual and/or team specific goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Converting qualified leads into revenue by engaging with new customers during all phases of the sales cycle (strategic account targeting, development of deal, and close of the business)
  • Being resourceful by using our broad portfolio of products, services, and solutions to engages with new customers at all levels
  • Not only selling the best solution, but ensuring it drives value for the customer
  • Proactively prospect greenfield new business
  • Engage new customers at all levels in the organization
  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Take the lead in identifying and targeting potential clients in the automation and instrumentation sectors. Utilize various prospecting methods such as cold calling, email outreach, social selling, and networking events to generate new leads and opportunities.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activities in the automation and instrumentation space. Use this information to develop targeted sales strategies and messaging that resonate with potential clients.
  • Qualification and Pipeline Management: Qualify leads effectively by assessing their fit with NECI's solutions and their likelihood to convert into customers. Manage and prioritize leads in the sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up and nurturing to move them through the sales process.
  • Solution Presentation and Consultative Selling: Engage with prospects in consultative sales conversations, understanding their pain points and business challenges. Present NECI's digital automation solutions as strategic tools to address these challenges and drive tangible business outcomes.
  • Collaboration with Marketing and Product Teams: Work closely with the marketing team to align on lead generation strategies, messaging, and campaign execution targeted at the automation and instrumentation sectors. Provide feedback to the product team based on market insights and customer feedback to drive product improvements and innovation.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital sales and automation. Participate in training sessions, webinars, and industry events to enhance sales skills and knowledge.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, including prospecting efforts, client interactions, and deal progress, in the CRM system. Provide regular updates and reports to sales management on pipeline status, sales performance, and market insights.
  • Customer Relationship Building: Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within target accounts, including executives, decision-makers, and influencers. Act as a trusted advisor to prospects, providing insights and guidance on how NECI's solutions can drive value for their business.
  • Strategic Account Planning: Develop and execute strategic account plans for key target accounts in the automation and instrumentation sectors. Identify growth opportunities, competitive threats, and potential barriers to entry, and formulate strategies to overcome them.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments within NECI, including customer success, implementation, and support teams, to ensure a seamless transition from sales to onboarding and implementation for new customers.
  • Travel: Occasional travel may be required to meet with clients, attend industry events, or participate in sales meetings and training sessions

What You’ll Bring (education can vary)

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University
  • 3-5 years of software or technology sales experience
  • Track record of hitting and exceeding quota
  • Experience managing and closing complex sales-cycles
  • Strong Business Acumen and written/verbal communications skills
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Understanding of/accountability to sales behavior metrics including managing business opportunity in a CRM
  • Proven experience in a land role, demonstrating a track record of success in generating new business and expanding market share.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with key decision-makers and influencers in the automation and instrumentation sectors.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities within target markets.
  • Adaptability and resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic sales environment, where priorities may shift and challenges may arise.
  • A results-driven mindset, with a commitment to exceeding sales targets and driving business growth for NECI.

Not Required, but Preferred:

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM
  • Process industry business knowledge
